With a statement on the official website, Italian Serie A Women club Inter Milan has announced the signing of Super Falcons midfielder Toni Payne from Everton.
The Nigerian international has signed a contract that will keep her at the club until June 30, 2028, as Inter continue to strengthen their squad ahead of the new season.
Payne joins the Nerazzurre after a spell with Women's Super League side Everton, bringing with her valuable experience gained across some of Europe's top leagues.
Born in Birmingham, Alabama, to Nigerian parents, the 31-year-old began her European career in 2017 with Dutch side Ajax before moving to Spanish club Sevilla a year later.
During her six seasons with Sevilla between 2018 and 2024, Payne established herself as one of the club's key players, making 168 appearances and scoring 30 goals before completing a move to Everton.
Although she represented the United States at youth level, Payne switched her international allegiance to Nigeria and made her senior debut for the Super Falcons in 2021.
Since then, she has become an important member of the national team, featuring prominently in major international competitions.
Toni Payne’s move to Inter comes shortly after she earned a place in Nigeria’s squad for the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (Wafcon), with coach Justine Madugu selecting the midfielder among the 25 players who will represent the Super Falcons at the tournament in Morocco from July 25 to August 16.
