After signing George on permanent deal, Everton interested in another Super Eagles-eligible winger

Premier League club Everton are reportedly interested in Newcastle United winger Jacob Murphy, who was heavily linked with Nigeria's national team, the Super Eagles, in 2025.

The Toffees completed the signing of another Nigeria-eligible winger this week, with Tyrique George joining on a permanent deal after spending the second half of last season on loan at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

George could face competition for a place in the starting lineup next season, with Sky Sports reporting that Everton are interested in signing Murphy.

The 31-year-old is among the players being considered by Everton as they look to strengthen their attacking options.

Murphy is a proven Premier League performer, having made 218 appearances for the Magpies, scoring 22 goals and providing 31 assists.

With Murphy entering the final year of his contract at Newcastle United, a departure from St James' Park cannot be ruled out, as the Magpies risk losing him on a free transfer next summer if he is not offered a new deal.

Murphy has been with Newcastle United since joining the club in 2017, interrupted only by brief loan spells at West Bromwich Albion and Sheffield Wednesday.
