With an official statement, Serie A giants Juventus have completed the signing of Italian-Nigerian forward Daniel Okolo on a free transfer during the current summer transfer window.
The 2007-born striker earned the move to the Bianconeri after impressing with Serie C side Triestina despite the club's relegation last season.
Okolo made a positive impact with the first team, scoring one goal and registering two assists in 10 league appearances as he attempted to help the club avoid the drop.
Following Triestina's relegation, the young striker reportedly became a free agent after the club reportedly terminated the contracts of all its players, paving the way for Juventus to secure his signature without paying a transfer fee.
The Old Lady see his arrival as a strategic addition to strengthen Juventus Next Gen, the club's reserve side that competes in the lower divisions and serves as a development pathway to the senior team.
The Turin giants moved swiftly to beat off competition from several clubs across Italy's second and third tiers. Okolo had attracted interest from Spezia, Bari, Catania, Empoli and Juve Stabia following his promising performances with Triestina.
At Juventus Next Gen, the Italian-Nigerian attacker is expected to continue his development under head coach Max Brambilla, with the club viewing him as a long-term prospect.
Strong performances with the reserve side could earn him an opportunity to break into the Juventus first team in the coming years.
