Not just Nwaneri's brother: Another highly-rated Nigerian midfielder set to leave Arsenal

Arsenal are facing another potential setback in their academy ranks, with highly rated Nigerian midfielder Mishel Nduka expected to leave the club despite previously being tipped to sign a scholarship deal.

Nduka joined the Gunners' Hale End Academy last September after spending eight years with Charlton Athletic.

The midfielder made a strong impression following his move to north London, making his debuts in the U18 Premier League, UEFA Youth League and Premier League 2 before turning 16 — a remarkable achievement that highlighted his potential.

According to The Secret Scout, Arsenal are now set to lose Nduka, who has attracted interest from several Premier League rivals.

The 16-year-old made 13 appearances across the U18 Premier League, UEFA Youth League and Premier League 2 last season, accumulating 625 minutes of action.

His performances also caught the attention of England's youth coaches, earning him seven caps for the Young Lions' U16 side between December and April.

Although Nduka is yet to make his senior debut, his progress was recognised last season when he was invited to train with Arsenal's first team.

He is not the only Nigeria-eligible midfielder expected to depart Arsenal this summer.

The Secret Scout confirmed that Ethan Nwaneri's younger brother Emerson is also set to leave the club.

Both players were offered scholarship deals by Arsenal, but their expected departures raise questions over the club's ability to retain some of its most promising academy talents.
