Allnigeriasoccer.com can exclusively report with certainty that Nigeria youth international Ifeoluwa Adewale Olowoporoku is on the verge of joining Swedish giants IFK Göteborg
The former Golden Eaglets attacking midfielder has reached an agreement in principle with the Allsvenskan club, bringing an end to a transfer battle that attracted interest from several European clubs.
The deal will see Ifeoluwa sign a multi-year contract with the eighteen-time Swedish champions once he turns 18 on July 15, 2026 when he officially reaches the age of majority.
The move represents a historic moment for Tripple 44 as Ifeoluwa is set to become the academy's most expensive-ever sale.
The previous record transfer fee received by the Nigerian academy was €350,000.
The promising teenager attracted attention from a host of clubs across Europe and beyond, including Manchester City, Real Betis, Villarreal, Atlético Madrid, Torino, Malmö, Kalmar, BK Häcken and Egyptian giants Al Ahly.
However, all of those clubs have missed out on securing his signature, with IFK Göteborg winning the race for one of Nigeria's most highly-rated young talents.
Despite not speaking Spanish, Ifeoluwa impressed during a two-week trial with Real Betis' U17 side, showcasing his technical ability and attacking qualities.
Manchester City also made efforts to convince the youngster to join the Premier League giants by contacting a leading agency to assist in negotiations, but a move to the Citizens failed to materialise.
Ifeoluwa opted for IFK Göteborg after being impressed by the way the club treated him during his trial period.
The young midfielder believes the Swedish club provides the ideal environment for him to continue his development and take the next step in his career.
