Venezia sporting director Filippo Antonelli has provided an important update on the club’s negotiations with Sevilla for Nigerian striker Akor Adams, insisting that the transfer discussions are at an advanced stage but refusing to confirm an agreement until every detail has been completed.
The Serie A newcomers have been pushing to secure the services of the Super Eagles forward, with reports indicating that negotiations with Sevilla have progressed significantly after Venezia improved their offer.
Venezia are believed to have reached an agreement worth €16 million for the striker, with Adams also accepting the move to Italy.
Speaking about the negotiations, the Venezia sporting director explained that he would provide a full explanation once everything is officially concluded.
"I promise I'll tell you everything, but I'd like to do so once everything is finalized. Negotiations are very advanced, but there are things to be finalized," he said has quoted by Calciomercato.
Antonelli added that he would provide further details about the club’s transfer activities after the window closes.
"At the end of the transfer window, I'll tell you every detail of every deal."
The comments suggest that while significant progress has been made, Venezia are still working on the final stages of the agreement before making an official announcement.
Adams emerged as a key target for Venezia after an impressive campaign with Sevilla, where he established himself as one of the Spanish club’s most important attacking players.
The Nigerian forward’s performances attracted interest from several clubs, but Venezia moved decisively to secure his signature.
