Turkish champions Galatasaray have reportedly reached an agreement with Burnley to sign Super Eagles-eligible midfielder Lesley Ugochukwu in a deal worth around €30 million (approximately #47 billion), according to transfer market expert Fabrizio Romano.
The 22-year-old enjoyed an impressive campaign with the Clarets in the Premier League despite the club's relegation to the Championship at the end of the 2025/26 season.
Ugochukwu established himself as one of Burnley's standout performers, contributing three goals and two assists in 35 league appearances.
His consistent performances reportedly convinced Galatasaray manager Okan Buruk and the club's hierarchy to make him a priority target as they continue to strengthen their squad ahead of the new campaign.
Galatasaray have now completed the full agreement on a package worth approximately €30 million (approximately #47 billion) , with the midfielder expected to complete the formalities and sign his contract in the coming days.
The move is expected to significantly bolster Galatasaray's midfield as the Turkish giants prepare to defend their domestic crown and mount a stronger challenge in the UEFA Champions League after last season's campaign.
For Ugochukwu, the move represents another significant step in his development and will also see him become teammates with Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen, who has established himself as a cult hero among Galatasaray supporters.
His progress also continues to attract attention from Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle, who is reportedly monitoring the France youth international's situation.
Although Ugochukwu has represented France at various youth levels, he remains eligible to play for Nigeria at senior level, having yet to earn a competitive cap for the French national team, leaving the door open for a potential future with the Super Eagles.
