Through their official channels, South African Premiership side Chippa United have confirmed the return of Nigeria international Stanley Nwabali to the Chilli Boys.
The Super Eagles goalkeeper previously parted ways with the club by mutual consent after submitting a transfer request following his impressive performances at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, where he kept four consecutive clean sheets in regulation time.
Nwabali was subsequently linked with clubs in South Africa, North Africa and Saudi Arabia, but none of the proposed moves materialised.
As a result, the 30-year-old has now returned to Chippa United for a second spell with the club.
The shot-stopper has not featured for Chippa United in the South African Premiership since keeping a clean sheet in a goalless draw against Magesi FC on November 4, 2025.
At international level, he has not represented the Super Eagles since January 17.
His prolonged absence from competitive action at club level saw him overlooked for Nigeria's March internationals, the Unity Cup in May, as well as the high-profile friendly matches against Poland and Portugal.
Announcing his return, Chippa United said Nwabali's experience, leadership and commanding presence would once again provide a significant boost to the squad as the team continues its preparations for the new season.
