Chelsea's former coach appointed Paris FC manager as Moses Simon eyes revival

Former Chelsea coach Liam Rosenior has been appointed as the new manager of Moses Simon's Paris FC ahead of the 2026/2027 season, offering the Super Eagles winger a fresh opportunity to revive his form.

The Ligue 1 club confirmed Rosenior's appointment on Tuesday in a statement published on its official website, with the Englishman arriving after a three months spell at Chelsea.

His appointment comes as Paris FC begin preparations for the new campaign following a difficult first season back in the French top flight.

Rosenior's arrival will see him manage the Nigeria international, who endured a disappointing debut season at the Stade Jean-Bouin after completing his move from Nantes last summer.

The experienced winger managed just three goals and three assists in 29 Ligue 1 appearances as Paris FC battled to preserve their top-flight status.

Simon struggled to replicate the form that made him one of Ligue 1's standout performers during the 2024/2025 season with Nantes.

In that campaign, the Super Eagles star scored eight goals and registered 10 assists in 32 league appearances, earning widespread praise for his consistent attacking displays.

The contrast between his final season at Nantes and his first year with Paris FC came as a surprise to supporters, who had expected the Nigerian to play a leading role following his impressive performances before the transfer.

With Rosenior now at the helm, Simon will be determined to impress the new manager during pre-season and re-establish himself as one of the club's key attacking threats.

The winger will also be eager to justify the club's investment and rediscover the form that made him one of the most productive wide players in French football.
