Winger eligible for Nigeria, Congo and England joins Al Wahda after leaving Crystal Palace

Through official channels, United Arab Emirates Pro League club Al Wahda have announced the signing of tri-national winger Asher Agbinone following his release by Premier League club Crystal Palace.

Born in London, Agbinone is eligible to represent England, his country of birth, as well as Nigeria through his father and Congo through his mother.

The forward was on the books of Crystal Palace for twelve years, having joined their academy at U9 level, rising through the ranks to make his Premier League debut against Nottingham Forest at the City Ground in October 2024.

In January 2025, he was loaned out to Gillingham, where he made six appearances in the fourth tier of English football.

Al Wahda stated in an official announcement that the new signing has been registered as a resident player, in line with its long-term strategy of strengthening the squad with promising young talent.

Al Wahda's board of directors also welcomed the youngster to the club, wishing him every success in his career and expressing confidence that he will play a key role in helping the team achieve victories and silverware.

For the 2026-2027 season, Agbinone has been assigned the number 19 jersey.

Nigerian centre-back Favour Ogbu represented Al Wahda last season, while Palace old boy Christian Benteke is contracted to the club.
