English Championship side Watford and Dutch Eredivisie club PEC Zwolle are reportedly in a two-way battle to sign Kingsley Ehizibue following the expiration of his contract at Udinese.
Ehizibue enjoyed another impressive campaign with the Serie A outfit, delivering consistent displays at both ends of the pitch.
The experienced defender scored two goals in 32 league appearances as Udinese secured a 10th-place finish, narrowly missing out on qualification for European competition.
Despite his contributions, the club and the 31-year-old failed to reach an agreement over a contract extension, bringing his spell at the Bluenergy Stadium to an end on June 30, 2026.
According to Italian outlet TuttoUdinese, both Watford and PEC Zwolle have expressed strong interest in signing the former FC Köln defender on a free transfer ahead of the 2026/27 season.
The two clubs are eager to strengthen their defensive options and view Ehizibue's experience and versatility as valuable assets in their pursuit of their respective objectives for the new campaign.
Although Udinese manager Kosta Runjaic was keen to retain the defender, the Italian club are reportedly close to completing a move for Heidenheim full-back Omar Traoré as his replacement.
Ehizibue, who received his first invitation to the Super Eagles camp in March 2020, is now expected to focus on securing his next challenge as he looks to build on his solid season in Italy and continue performing at the highest level.
