With a statement on their official website, Reading have announced the signing of Oxford-born Nigerian defender Udoka Godwin-Malife.
Godwin-Malife has joined the Royals for an undisclosed fee and has signed a three-year contract that will keep him at the club until the end of the 2028-2029 season.
The 26-year-old captained Burton Albion last season, helping the Brewers secure a 17th-place finish in the third tier of English football.
During his two-year spell with Burton, whom he joined from Swindon Town, Godwin-Malife made 88 appearances, scoring three goals and providing seven assists.
He opened his Burton Albion account on his debut against Lincoln City in August 2024 before adding further League One goals against Stockport County and Exeter City.
His strike against Exeter earned him a nomination for the club's Goal of the Season award.
Before joining Burton Albion, the Oxford City academy graduate represented Forest Green Rovers and Eastleigh.
He also captained Burton during their Emirates FA Cup fourth-round defeat to West Ham United.
Godwin-Malife will now link up with fellow Nigerian striker Kelvin Ehibhatiomhan at Reading.
