Former Nigeria U23 international Okereke ends four-year association with Cremonese

Former Nigeria U23 international David Okereke will end his four-year association with relegated Serie A club Cremonese this summer, allnigeriasoccer.com has been told.

The versatile forward's contract with the Grigiorossi expires today, June 30, paving the way for him to leave the Lombardy outfit as a free agent.

Signed from Club Brugge in 2022 for a fee of €2.5 million, Okereke recorded 13 goals and five assists in 68 appearances across all competitions for Cremonese.

In his final season at the club, he found playing opportunities hard to come by, making just three starts in the Italian top flight and scoring two goals against Fiorentina and Pisa.

He also spent time on loan at Torino and Turkish club Gaziantep during his time as a Cremonese player.

Okereke is attracting interest from European clubs and is now weighing up his options before deciding on his next career move.

He is the second former Super Eagles invitee set to depart a club that featured in last season's Serie A, following Kingsley Ehizibue, who failed to agree a contract extension with Udinese.

Besides the aforementioned clubs, Okereke has also represented Lavagnese, Spezia, Cosenza, Club Brugge and Venezia.
