Millwall legend confirms Super Eagles' Unity Cup star attracting interest from Aston Villa

Premier League side Aston Villa are reportedly monitoring the situation of Super Eagles forward Femi Azeez following his outstanding performances for Millwall during the 2025/26 season.

The 25-year-old winger enjoyed a breakthrough campaign with the Championship outfit, registering 11 goals and eight assists in 35 appearances across all competitions.

His contributions played a crucial role in Millwall's push for promotion, with the club reaching the Championship play-off semi-finals before suffering elimination to eventual winners Hull City.

Azeez's impressive form has not gone unnoticed, attracting interest from several clubs across England, with Aston Villa emerging as one of the latest admirers.

Millwall legend Bryan King revealed that the Nigerian forward is among the players being considered by Villa as the club seeks to strengthen its options in the wide attacking positions ahead of the new campaign.

Speaking to Football Insider, King disclosed that Azeez and Crysencio Summerville are both on Villa's radar.

"He [Summerville] plays in a position where I know Villa are looking for a wide player," King said.

"He's a player that Villa would be interested in, because I know they are, and the boy [Femi] Azeez was mentioned from Millwall. And I would certainly put Summerville into that kind of category."

Azeez's remarkable club form also earned him recognition on the international stage, with Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle handing the winger his maiden invitation to the Nigerian national team ahead of the Unity Cup tournament.

The Millwall attacker made an immediate impact for Nigeria during the four-nation tournament held in Charlton, London, in May.

He announced himself in style by scoring twice on his debut against Zimbabwe and went on to play a pivotal role as the Super Eagles retained the title following their victory over Jamaica in the final.
