Galatasaray in advanced talks to sign Burnley midfielder on Eric Chelle's radar

Allnigeriasoccer.com has been told that Turkish Super Lig champions Galatasaray are in advanced talks to sign Burnley midfielder Lesley Ugochukwu.

Ugochukwu is on the radar of Super Eagles boss Eric Chelle, although the Rennes native is understood to be leaning towards representing France at senior  level after progressing through the country's youth ranks.

Galatasaray have already agreed personal terms with the France U23 international of Nigerian descent and are now making significant progress in negotiations with Burnley over a deal.

The Istanbul giants are pushing to sign the 22-year-old on loan, but Burnley want any agreement to include a mandatory purchase option.

The obligation to buy would be triggered automatically if Ugochukwu makes a specified number of appearances during the loan spell.

Ugochukwu is a versatile midfielder capable of operating primarily as a defensive midfielder, while also being comfortable in central and attacking midfield roles.

Renowned for his physicality, aerial dominance and athleticism, the 22-year-old has a contract with the Clarets until June 30, 2030.

Ugochukwu joined Burnley from Chelsea last summer, and made 38 all-competition appearances in his debut season with the relegated Premier League club.
