Nigeria internationals Ola Aina and Taiwo Awoniyi are set to work under a new manager at Premier League club Nottingham Forest, with Italian transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirming reports from The Telegraph that an agreement has been reached for former Crystal Palace boss Oliver Glasner to replace Vítor Pereira.
Glasner arrives with an impressive managerial pedigree, having guided Eintracht Frankfurt to Europa League glory in May 2022.
Four years later, he led Crystal Palace to their first major trophy, overseeing their UEFA Conference League triumph.
Vítor Pereira joined Forest last February as the club's fourth head coach of the season.
He guided the team to a 16th-place finish in the Premier League and a place in the semifinals of the Europa League.
His departure brings an end to his 20-game spell in charge, during which he recorded eight wins, six draws and six defeats.
Pereira's contract included a break clause allowing Nottingham Forest to terminate the agreement before the end of June.
Nottingham Forest exercised that option by sending the manager an email yesterday at 11:58pm, just two minutes before the deadline expired.
Awoniyi enjoyed a productive spell under Pereira at Forest, registering five goal involvements in nine appearances, while Aina was handed 12 starts during the manager's tenure.
The Super Eagles duo could feature in Glasner's first match in charge when Nottingham Forest travel to Meadow Lane to face Notts County on July 18.
