Done deal: Centre-back eligible for three countries joins Club Brugge after West Ham exit

In a statement published on their official website, Belgian Pro League champions Club Brugge have announced the signing of tri-national centre-back Emmanuel Fejokwu.

Fejokwu recently confirmed on social media that he had ended his nine-year association with West Ham United, signalling that he was on the verge of completing a move to a new club.

Club Brugge have pulled off a major transfer coup by luring the highly-rated defender to West Flanders, fending off competition from clubs in the Netherlands, Italy and Germany for his signature.

Although he is still under 18, Fejokwu is eligible to join a European club because he holds a Dutch passport.

The 16-year-old has signed a three-year contract with Blauw-Zwart until 2029, subject to Fifa's administrative approval for the international transfer of a minor.

Once the remaining administrative formalities are completed, the promising teenager will join Club Brugge's U23 side for the 2026-27 season.

Born in the Netherlands, Fejokwu is regarded as a versatile defender capable of playing both at centre-back and right-back.

Eligible to represent Nigeria through his father, Fejokwu has also featured for England and the Netherlands at U15 and U16 levels.
