Super Eagles-eligible midfielder Lesley Ugochukwu has emerged as a transfer target for Turkish giants Galatasaray and Fenerbahçe ahead of the 2026/27 season, following an impressive campaign with Burnley.
According to Turkish outlet Haberx, both Istanbul clubs are keen to strengthen their midfield options and have identified the 22-year-old as a priority signing during the summer transfer window.
Ugochukwu enjoyed an outstanding season despite Burnley's relegation from the Premier League, scoring three goals and registering two assists in 38 appearances across all competitions.
His consistent performances have attracted interest from several clubs across Europe, with Galatasaray and Fenerbahçe now leading the race for his signature.
The report claims that Galatasaray have already taken concrete steps by approaching Burnley over a potential deal.
The Turkish champions have reportedly submitted a loan offer that includes an option to make the move permanent.
Galatasaray are said to have a positive working relationship with Burnley and are hopeful those ties could help facilitate negotiations.
The midfielder is also believed to be receptive to the Yellow-Reds' proposal, with the club now awaiting Burnley's response.
However, Galatasaray could face stiff competition from fierce rivals Fenerbahçe, who have also expressed strong interest in signing the France youth international.
The Istanbul outfit are monitoring the situation closely as they seek to reinforce their squad ahead of the new campaign.
Although Ugochukwu remains under contract with Burnley until June 2030, the midfielder is expected to consider his options after the Clarets' relegation to the Championship, with a move to a top-flight club viewed as a realistic possibility.
Born in France to Nigerian heritage, Ugochukwu has represented France at various youth levels but remains eligible to play for the Super Eagles at senior international level.
