Official: Son of former Super Eagles midfielder signs new deal with Viborg FF

With a statement on the official website, Danish Superliga club Viborg FF have confirmed that Elliot Obiefule has signed a new deal.

Elliot comes from a footballing family, with his father, Paul Obiefule, a retired Nigeria international who also represented Viborg during his playing days, while his uncle is former Mosta centre-forward Obinna Obiefule.

Paul Obiefule was a member of the Super Eagles squad to the 2006 Africa Cup of Nations although he was an unused substitute in the six matches played by the national team.

A product of Planners FC, Paul Obiefule also wore the colours of Heartland, Lyn, Hønefoss, Lillestrom, KuPS, Assyriska FF, Møldrup/Tostrup and Holstebro before hanging up his boots.

Elliot Obiefule received a special birthday gift as he signed a three-year contract with Viborg FF on his 15th birthday. 

A striker by trade, Elliot joined FK Viborg as an U13 player and has previously played for partner clubs Ravnsbjerg IF and NUGF Viborg.

Known for his physical strength, sharp instincts in the box and ability to score from different situations, he has earned multiple invitations to DBU training camps.

Paul Obiefule represented Viborg between 2004 and 2007, making 40 appearances for the four-time Danish 1st Division champions.
