'He can't play for Barcelona' - Former Fenerbahce striker praises Osimhen but highlights one major weakness

Former Fenerbahçe striker Serdar Dursun has questioned whether Super Eagles forward Victor Osimhen has the technical qualities needed to play for Spanish giants Barcelona, despite praising the Nigerian's overall ability.

Osimhen enjoyed another outstanding campaign with Galatasaray, playing a pivotal role in the club's successful Super Lig title defence.

The Nigerian striker finished the season with 22 goals and eight assists across all competitions, further strengthening his reputation as one of Europe's most sought-after forwards.

His impressive performances have fuelled speculation over a potential move away from the Turkish champions, with several top European clubs reportedly monitoring his situation.

Barcelona, Real Madrid, Atlético Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester United and Chelsea have all been linked with the 27-year-old in recent months.

Despite the links, Dursun believes Osimhen's technical qualities could prevent him from fitting into Barcelona's style of play.

Speaking on the Cup Diary programme on Spor Smart, the former Turkish international praised the Nigerian's overall quality but questioned whether he possesses the refined technique required at Barcelona.

"I don't think Osimhen can play for Barcelona. Osimhen is a talented player, but he doesn't have a clean technique, Dursun said via Fanatik

Dursun's doubts appear to have been reinforced by recent reports linking Barcelona with a move for Argentine forward Julián Álvarez instead of Osimhen.

With pre-season preparations for the 2026/27 campaign approaching, the former Napoli striker is expected to clarify his future in the coming weeks as transfer speculation continues to intensify
