Leicester City fan pundit Jamie Preston has urged Leicester to consider signing Wrexham goalkeeper Arthur Okonkwo, describing the potential arrival of the Nigeria international as a positive move for the club.
Preston believes Okonkwo could bring the stability Leicester have been searching for in the goalkeeper position since Kasper Schmeichel’s departure.
The fan pundit suggested that the club should consider a loan move for the highly-rated shot-stopper rather than a permanent deal.
Speaking to Football League World, Jamie said: “Getting the lad in from Wrexham would be a great prospect for Leicester.”
“We've had problems with goalkeepers since Kasper Schmeichel left. We've had Danny Ward, Asmir Begovic, Jakub Stolarczyk and Mads Hermansen, no-one's really settled in, so I think getting him, more likely on loan than on a permanent deal, would be an absolutely great idea for Leicester."
Okonkwo has built a strong reputation during his time with Wrexham, becoming one of the club’s key players after initially joining on loan before making the move permanent.
The goalkeeper has also recently taken a major step on the international stage after making his senior debut for the Super Eagles during the 2026 Unity Cup in London.
Okonkwo kept back-to-back clean sheets in Nigeria’s matches against Jamaica and Zimbabwe, helping the team secure strong defensive performances during the tournament.
