Celtic risk losing Iheanacho as Turkish clubs make lucrative offers to Super Eagles striker

Celtic could face a battle to keep Kelechi Iheanacho after the club's option to extend his contract for another season expired, leaving the Super Eagles striker's future uncertain.

The 29-year-old was absent as the Scottish champions returned to Lennoxtown for pre-season preparations, with The Scottish Sun confirming that Iheanacho is in Nigeria training individually while he awaits clarity over his next move.

The experienced forward, who previously featured for Manchester City and Leicester City, is keen on remaining at Parkhead after making a strong impact during Celtic's title-winning campaign.

Manager Martin O'Neill is also believed to be eager to retain his services.

However, no formal discussions have taken place over a new agreement, increasing uncertainty over whether the striker will continue his Celtic career.

With Iheanacho now a free agent, Turkish clubs have already begun presenting lucrative offers as they look to secure his signature.

Interest from other clubs across Europe is also growing, leaving Celtic under pressure to act if they want to keep hold of their title-winning forward.
