Nigerian striker Stanley Iheanacho continued his fine pre-season form after scoring and providing an assist to help Danish side FC Midtjylland secure a dramatic 2-2 comeback draw against Swedish club Malmö FF at the Eleda Stadium.
The young forward, who recently rejoined the Danish outfit, made a decisive impact after coming on in the second half with Midtjylland trailing by two goals.
Malmö had established a commanding lead in the opening half through strikes from Oscar Sjöstrand and Adrian Skogmar, leaving the Danish side with a mountain to climb.
Iheanacho almost made an instant impact after the restart when he was played through by Sofus Johannesen, but the Nigerian narrowly missed from close range.
The striker, however, made amends in the 69th minute. Following a corner kick, Iheanacho reacted quickest inside the box and calmly slotted home to reduce the deficit and reignite Midtjylland's hopes of a comeback.
With time running out, the Nigerian once again proved influential. He teed up 20-year-old Senegalese forward Abdou Aziz, who embarked on a brilliant run, dribbled past the Malmö defence and fired home the equaliser to secure a 2-2 draw for the visitors.
The goal means Iheanacho has now registered two goals in two pre-season matches for Midtjylland, having also found the back of the net in the club's previous friendly against Lillestrøm SK.
The Nigerian returned to Midtjylland this summer from Portuguese side CD Mafra following an impressive campaign in Portugal, where he scored 14 goals and contributed one assist in 31 appearances across all competitions.
With the new season fast approaching, Iheanacho will be eager to maintain his excellent form and repay the club's faith after their decision to bring him back to Denmark.
