Ebenezer Akinsanmiro, who was included in Nigeria's 2025 Africa Cup of Nations squad, is attracting interest from Serie A side Bologna FC 1909 following a promising campaign that has further raised his stock in Italian football, Bologna Sportnews reports.
The Nigerian youngster enjoyed a productive loan spell at Pisa SC last season, where he impressed with his physical presence, technical quality, and composure in midfield despite the club's relegation to Serie B.
Operating primarily as both a defensive and central midfielder, Akinsanmiro registered one assist in 24 league appearances, steadily establishing himself as a reliable option in the middle of the park.
Following his performances, Pisa are understood to have moved to secure his services permanently by activating a purchase option valued at around €7.5 million.
However, his parent club, Inter Milan, are reportedly prepared to trigger a counter-buy clause worth approximately €8.5 million, allowing them to retain control of the player's future.
Amid this ongoing situation, Bologna have now emerged as serious admirers, with reports suggesting the Rossoblù have requested information regarding the midfielder's contractual status and the evolving agreement between Pisa and Inter.
While formal negotiations are yet to begin, Bologna are believed to view Akinsanmiro as a valuable addition to strengthen their midfield ahead of the 2026/2027 campaign.
Should the move materialise, it would see the Nigerian international continue his development in Serie A, with Bologna positioning themselves to potentially outmaneuver other suitors for his signature in the ongoing transfer window.
