Everton are on the brink of announcing the signing of English-Ghanaian-Nigeran forward Tyrique George from Chelsea in a move confirmed by transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.
Romano announced on his social media accounts that the deal is complete between all parties, including the player’s representatives, with the transfer now set to be finalised.
The agreement is understood to be worth an initial £18m, with a further £6m in potential add-ons.
Chelsea will also retain a 15% sell-on clause as part of the package. George is expected to sign a long-term contract at Goodison Park.
The 20-year-old came through Chelsea’s academy and has been highly rated within the club’s youth system, but struggled for regular first-team opportunities in a competitive squad.
London-born George is eligible to represent Nigeria's Super Eagles and Ghana's Black Stars through his family heritage, despite previously featuring for England at youth level.
His international future remains open, with the three countries countries potentially able to call him up at senior level.
He spent last season on loan at Everton, where he impressed coaching staff with his pace, movement and versatility across the front line.
Those performances are believed to have played a significant role in Everton’s decision to pursue a permanent move.
Everton see George as part of their long-term attacking rebuild as they continue to reshape their squad for the future.
