Nigerian winger Angelo Agbejoye Hountondji is on the verge of completing a move to 12-time Swedish champions Djurgårdens IF.
According to Swedish newspaper Expressen, Djurgården are close to securing their first signing of the summer transfer window, with Agbejoye set to be unveiled as a new player for the club, subject to successfully completing his medical examination.
The Stockholm-based side have pulled off a major transfer coup by beating several European clubs to the highly rated attacker’s signature.
Following an international scouting report that highlighted his agility, technical ability and attacking qualities, Agbejoye earned an invitation for a one-month trial with Premier League giants Manchester City in 2025.
The talented winger also impressed with his dribbling ability and creativity on the right flank, attracting interest from clubs including AIK, Rapid Vienna and Red Bull Salzburg.
FC Copenhagen and Benfica were also reportedly monitoring the promising Nigerian attacker.
The 18-year-old winger caught the attention of European scouts after a series of impressive performances for Grassrunners FC in the N-Youth League, a developmental platform designed to identify, nurture and promote Nigeria’s next generation of football talents.
