West Ham United loan out left-footed CB who qualifies for Nigeria, England and Greece

Through the official website, Championship club West Ham United have announced that tri-national player Rayan Oyebade will be spending the forthcoming season on loan at National League side Southend United.

A left-footed central defender, Oyebade qualifies to represent the senior national teams of England where he was born, Nigeria through his father and Greece though his mother.

After representing England's Young Lions at U15 level, he became provisionally cap-tied to Greece after starting a European U19 Championship qualifier against Liechtenstein in November 2025.

Oyebade signed his first professional contract with West Ham in April last year after rising through the club's academy ranks and captaining the Under-18 side in the 2024-25 Premier League Cup final.

Last season, the 19-year-old represented the Hammers youth teams in Premier League 2, National League Cup, EFL Trophy, Premier League International Cup and PL2 playoffs, totaling 31 appearances across the competitions and providing two assists.

He played against the first teams of Reading, Swindon Town,  Colchester United and AFC Wimbledon in the EFL Trophy last season.

Oyebade joined West Ham United's academy at U14 level after spending a decade developing his game with grassroots clubs Broadwater Farm and Focus Football.
