Fulham manager Marco Silva has criticised the lack of impact from his substitutes after his side's disappointing second-half display in the 1-1 draw against Wolverhampton Wanderers, singling out the team’s attacking changes, including Nigerian winger Samuel Chukwueze.
Chukwueze, who began the match on the bench, was brought on late in the second half as Fulham pushed for a winning goal.
The Nigeria international replaced former Manchester City midfielder Oscar Bobb in the closing stages but was unable to influence the outcome.
Speaking after the game, Silva described the second-half display as one of the team’s poorest and admitted he struggled to explain the dip in performance.
"Probably one of the worst second halves from us this season," Silva was quoted as saying by Fulham's official website. "For me, it is difficult to find a reason for that. We tried everything from the bench."
The Portuguese tactician revealed that Chukwueze and the other attacking substitutes were introduced to change the game, but none were able to make a meaningful impact on the game.
"Apart from Kevin at halftime, we finished the game with Chukwueze, Harry Wilson, Raul, Josh King as well but the reality is the impact was not there at all," he lamented.
"Zero impact from the changes and it can happen in some moments of the game."
Chukwueze, who joined on loan from AC Milan, struggled to make an impact after coming on, as he failed to register a shot on target or complete a successful dribble during his time on the pitch.
