The former Viktoria Plzen player was among several new players invited for the Unity Cup as Chelle sought to expand his player pool ahead of future international competitions.
Following Nigeria’s triumph in the competition, the striker reflected on his journey and expressed gratitude for the opportunity to represent the country at senior level.
“He always have thought of good for us, so you have to put God first and he'll lead you through,” Durosinmi told Molatsportgist after the match.
The forward also revealed the mindset that helped him stay calm before stepping onto the pitch for the Super Eagles.
“What I was thinking? I just leave everything to God the he will help me and do everything. It's not by my power because I don't have the strength of my own,” he stated.
Durosinmi had earlier described his maiden Super Eagles invitation as a dream come true after receiving his first senior national team call-up. He admitted that wearing the famous green and white jersey meant a lot to him and his family.
Asked how he felt after lifting the Unity Cup trophy with Nigeria, Durosinmi could not hide his excitement.
“I am happy I represent my country very well. Wining the first title for my country is a great honour for me,” he said.
Nigeria successfully retained the Unity Cup title after defeating Jamaica 3-0 in the final, with Chelle’s side continuing to build momentum ahead of upcoming international fixtures.
Durosinmi’s encouraging displays are also expected to boost his chances of becoming a regular figure in the Super Eagles setup in the coming months.
