'Who wouldn't want Osimhen?' - Fenerbahce board nominee makes honest admission on Galatasaray star

Mahmut Uslu, a member of the proposed board of directors of Fenerbahçe presidential candidate Aziz Yıldırım, has admitted that any club would be interested in signing Victor Osimhen but believes the Nigerian striker is unlikely to join the Yellow Canaries.

Osimhen enjoyed an outstanding campaign with Galatasaray, playing a key role in the club's Süper Lig triumph and further enhancing his reputation as one of Europe's most sought-after strikers.

The former African Footballer of the Year returned for a second spell with the Lions last summer after Galatasaray activated his €75 million release clause.

The move was historic, with the former Napoli striker becoming the most expensive player ever signed by a Turkish club.

Speaking about Galatasaray's star forward, Uslu described Osimhen as one of the most influential players in Turkish football and stressed the need for Fenerbahçe to build a team capable of competing against him.

He told HT Spor, as cited by Kıbrıs: "We will build a squad that can stop a team with Osimhen. If we make Kadıköy unbeatable, we will be champions."

When asked which Galatasaray player he would like Fenerbahçe to sign, Uslu named Osimhen but ruled out the possibility of a transfer between the Istanbul rivals.

"Who wouldn't want a player like Osimhen? But he won't come to us. His destinations are clear."

Osimhen has been linked with the likes of Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain and Arsenal in recent weeks despite being under contract with Galatasaray until June 2029.

The 27-year-old has registered 59 goals and 16 assists in 74 appearances across all competitions for the Turkish champions.
