Former Nigeria Football Federation president Amaju Pinnick has confirmed that highly-rated teenage forward Zadok Yohanna Zadok has caught the attention of the country's football authorities.
Exactly a week ago, Brighton & Hove Albion announced the signing of the winger from AIK Stockholm on a five-year contract until June 2031 for an undisclosed fee, with the deal set to be completed when the summer transfer window officially opens for business.
Zadok was included in the Super Eagles squad for the 2026 Unity Cup, but AIK declined to release him to the Nigeria Football Federation due to a combination of factors.
The 18-year-old was managing an injury at the time, while a potential transfer was also being considered.
Additionally, the tournament fell outside Fifa's official window for international fixtures, meaning clubs were not obligated to release players for the competition.
Pinnick highlighted the emergence of promising young talents being tracked by the Nigerian Federation, and namechecked Zadok, urging Nigerian football followers to take note of the potential of the Brighton new boy.
Speaking to Arise News this week, Pinnick said: "Now the bedrock of any football federation is your male national team and I believe that we are getting it right. We have a coach, we have a team and we have young enterprising players.
"Then watch out for this Yohanna. I personally did a review on the Yohanna boy that has gone to Brighton.
"That's the future. The Nigeria Football Federation is monitoring him. They are talking to him, so the future looks very good."
Zadok secured a transfer to Brighton after an impressive start to the new Allsvenskan season, where he recorded two goals and three assists in seven appearances.
