Slavia Prague defender Igoh Ogbu has praised the contribution of Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) players during the Unity Cup tournament in London.

Nigeria successfully retained the title with the commanding 3-0 victory over Jamaica in the final at The Valley in London on Saturday night.

Speaking after the match, Ogbu said the experience of winning the tournament was deeply rewarding, expressing satisfaction with the team's unity and overall display.

"The feeling is amazing I can't describe it. I am very happy," Ogbu told Proudly Austin after the game. "I am so proud of the team. "

He highlighted the positive impact of the domestic league players, noting their importance to the national setup.

"I am very proud of them because they showed that Nigeria is for all. They had a good outing and we are here to serve the country and we did good."

Ogbu also credited the coaching approach for the team's improved performances since the Africa Cup of Nations, stressing that tactical understanding and discipline have played a key role in the squad's progress.

"So, it's very amazing, I feel great and happy for them. I think our coach. I think he understands football, understands how the game works, and we listen to him."

Following the victory, the Super Eagles will now turn their attention to upcoming international friendly matches against Poland and Portugal, as Chelle continues preparations for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
