'That's my captain' - Osimhen left amazed by Galatasaray teammate's stunning piece of skill

Victor Osmihen has applauded Mauro Icardi for his spectacular assist during Galatasaray's title-clinching game against Antalyaspor last weekend.

Antalyaspor’' comeback hopes were extinguished by the Argentine striker, who helped create Galatasaray's fourth goal in a 4-2 win that secured the league title.

During the decisive encounter, Osimhen was replaced in stoppage time and watched from the sidelines as Icardi produced a moment of brilliance, dribbling past two opponents before setting up Kaan Ayhan for a memorable goal.

The Nigeria international admitted he was left stunned by Icardi's composure and technical quality in the build-up to the strike.

Speaking to Galatasaray's YouTube channel, Osimhen stated: "What Icardi did was sensational. It was sensational; it shows how talented a player he is.

“When he did that dribble, it was like, ‘That is my captain.’ When he did that, I knew either he was going to go for goal himself because I didn’t see Kaan Ayhan approaching at first, as I was celebrating Icardi’s dribble past two players.

“That moment was really unique. Then he saw Kaan moving and placed the ball.”

Osimhen explained that the move was so impressive that he immediately sensed a goal was inevitable, prompting celebrations before the ball even hit the net.

"It’s a very good goal. It shows how great a player he is, and that’s one of the reasons Kaan scored the goal, because it was already done,” he added.

"The celebration had started. It’s the reason why I ran towards him to say that was a very good play and also ran to Kaan to say that was a very good goal. Both of them deserve the praise for that goal."

Osimhen will miss Sunday's clash against Kasimpasa after receiving his eighth booking of the campaign in the win over Antalyaspor.
