Salford squad update: Ehibhatiomhan returns to Southampton, Lagos-born duo retained

Following the conclusion of the 2025–26 season, EFL League Two side Salford City have announced their retained and released list, with decisions made regarding the futures of four players of Nigerian descent.

Salford have confirmed that Southampton-owned forward Princewill Ehibhatiomhan has returned to his parent club following the expiration of his loan spell.

The 20-year-old spent the first half of the campaign at Swindon Town before joining Salford on loan for the remainder of the season.

During his time with the Ammies, Ehibhatiomhan made 12 appearances, accumulating 339 minutes of action.

Among the three Nigerian players retained by the club are Lagos-born duo Daniel Udoh and Adebola Oluwo.

While former Golden Eaglets invitee Udoh remains under contract until June 30, 2027, Mushin-born centre-back Oluwo has two years remaining on his current deal.

Udoh enjoyed an impressive campaign, registering 19 goal involvements in 42 appearances across all competitions after arriving from Wycombe Wanderers.

Oluwo, a goalscoring defender, also made a significant contribution, finding the net six times in 43 outings following his move from Barnet.

Completing the list of retained Nigerian players is former Arsenal defender Zach Awe, who has one year remaining on his contract and will stay at the club for the 2026–27 season.
