Premier League side Newcastle United have reportedly entered the race to sign 2026 Super Eagles invitee Zadok Yohanna, following his impressive start to the season in Sweden, according to transfer expert Florian Plettenberg.
Yohanna has enjoyed a standout campaign in the Allsvenskan, registering five goals and four assists in a strong run of form that has significantly raised his profile across Europe.
His performances have attracted interest from several top clubs ahead of the upcoming summer transfer window.
Brighton & Hove Albion were initially at the forefront of the pursuit, with reports suggesting the Seagulls have already reached an agreement in principle with the player while also engaging in ongoing negotiations with AIK over a potential transfer fee.
The South Coast club are said to be pushing to finalise terms as they look to strengthen their squad ahead of the 2026/2027 season.
However, Newcastle have now emerged as serious contenders for his signature, with the Magpies reportedly identifying Yohanna as a potential replacement for Anthony Gordon, who is said to have completed a move to Barcelona.
The Tyneside club are understood to be in direct talks with the Swedish side as they aim to hijack Brighton’s move.
Yohanna, who was previously included in the Super Eagles squad for the Unity Cup but was not released by his club, is expected to make a decision on his future in the coming weeks as interest continues to intensify ahead of the summer window.
