In a statement published on their official website, relegated Premier League side Wolverhampton Wanderers confirmed their retained and released list ahead of preparations for the 2026–27 season, with decisions made regarding the futures of eight players of Nigerian descent.
Among the U24 players retained is England U19 international Wesley Okoduwa, the son of former Nigeria international striker Emmanuel Okoduwa.
A former player for Shakhtar Donetsk and Arsenal Kyiv, Emmanuel Okoduwa played a key role in Nigeria's silver-medal-winning campaign at the 2003 African Games, scoring against South Africa and Senegal during the group stage.
Academy prospects Dapo Anunlopo, Tom Edozie, Elvis Elendu, Temple Ojinnaka and Saheed Olagunju have also been retained by the Molineux outfit.
Although he is yet to make his senior debut for Wolves, Okoduwa has been included in six Premier League matchday squads.
Elsewhere, Super Eagles striker Tolu Arokodare has been retained amid speculation over his future following Wolves' relegation to the Championship.
The former Racing Genk forward scored six goals and provided two assists in 38 appearances across all competitions during his debut season at Wolves.
Finally, former Austria U16 international David Osifo has been released following the expiry of the scholarship agreement the Vienna native signed in the summer of 2024.
