Italian Serie A newcomers interested in former Super Eagles invitee Gift Orban

Newly-promoted Italian Serie A club Venezia FC are reportedly considering a move for former Super Eagles invitee Gift Orban ahead of the 2026/27 season as they seek to bolster their squad following their return to the Italian top flight.

Orban enjoyed an encouraging loan spell with Hellas Verona last season, despite the club's relegation to Serie B.

The Nigerian forward scored seven goals and provided three assists in 28 league appearances during his first campaign in Italian football.

His performances have not gone unnoticed, with interest in his services growing following the expiration of his loan deal.

Orban has since returned to German Bundesliga side TSG Hoffenheim, where his future remains uncertain ahead of the summer transfer window.

According to reports from Sky Sport, Venezia are exploring the possibility of bringing the Nigerian striker to the club as part of their recruitment strategy for the upcoming campaign.

The newly-promoted side are keen to assemble a competitive squad capable of retaining their Serie A status and avoiding an immediate return to the second tier.

Orban is among several attacking options being considered by Venezia, who are also monitoring Kosovo international Albion Rrahmani of Sparta Prague.

With the summer transfer window approaching, Orban is expected to assess his options carefully as he looks to secure regular playing time and continue his development following a productive spell in Serie A.
