Irish-Nigerian-Ivorian forward late addition to Nigeria squad for friendlies against Poland and Portugal

The Nigeria Football Federation have confirmed the Super Eagles' squad for the upcoming internationals against Zimbabwe, Poland and Portugal.

Allnigeriaosccer.com exclusively reported prior to the official release of the rosters that 27 players had been invited for the Unity Cup tournament, while a separate 24-man squad was selected for the friendly matches against European opposition.

There has been a late addition to the squad submitted to the Nigeria Football Federation, with manager Eric Chelle including Plymouth Argyle forward Oweni Oseni in the roster for the friendlies against Poland and Portugal, bringing the total number of invited players to 25.

Born in Waterford, Oseni is eligible to represent his country of birth, the Republic of Ireland as well as Nigeria through his father and Ivory Coast through his mother.

However, the 23-year-old has committed his international future to Nigeria and is now in contention to make his senior debut for the three-time African champions.

Oseni earns his maiden Super Eagles call-up following a breakout campaign with Plymouth Argyle, during which he registered 15 goal involvements (10 goals, 5 assists) in the recently concluded season.

The tri-national forward holds a Nigerian passport, paving the way for him to make his debut for the Super Eagles in the coming days.
