Femi Azeez begins process of acquiring Nigerian passport ahead of possible cap-tying game in September

Allnigeriasoccer.com can exclusively report with certainty that Millwall sensation Femi Azeez has started the process of  obtaining a Nigerian passport ahead of the start of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers in September.

Born in the English capital London, Azeez qualifies to represent the Super Eagles through his Nigerian father.

In terms of goal involvements, the former Reading forward was arguably Nigeria's standout performer at the Unity Cup, recording three contributions, a tally matched only by experienced striker Terem Moffi, who captained the Super Eagles in both games.

The tri-national attacker is leaning towards representing the Super Eagles and has started the paperwork to secure a Nigerian passport ahead of a possible cap-tying game in the country's first competitive fixture of the 2026-2027 season.

Should he make his competitive debut in the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers in September, he would become cap-tied to Nigeria, ending any possibility of representing either England, his country of birth, or Spain, the homeland of his mother.

The appearance would officially commit him to the three-time African champions.

Azeez was considered for Nigeria's June international friendlies against Poland and Portugal, but the Nigeria Football Federation confirmed that Millwall declined to release him following his initial omission from the squad.
