Confirmed: Dennis to work under new Brondby manager after Steve Cooper's dismissal

Nigeria international Dennis will continue his spell at Brøndby under a new manager following the dismissal of head coach Steve Cooper on Friday evening.

In an official statement, Brøndby confirmed that the club has ended its collaboration with Cooper and, in the same move, appointed Julius Ohnesorge as its new football director.

The Danish Superliga side have parted ways with the former Nottingham Forest manager after a brief tenure.

Cooper was appointed Brøndby head coach in September 2025, signing a three-year contract that was due to run until 2028.

It was on his recommendation that Brøndby signed Dennis, although the Super Eagles forward was required to prove his fitness during the club’s training camp after a five-month spell of inactivity.

Under Cooper's leadership, Dennis made 11 appearances for the club, scoring his only goal as a substitute in a 1-0 victory over Viborg FF.

The Nigerian did not feature in Brøndby’s final two matches of the season, and Cooper's departure could cast doubt over his future at the club, despite still having two years remaining on his contract.

The dismissal comes a day after Brøndby’s 3–1 defeat to  FC Copenhagen, a result that cost them European qualification.

Brøndby have already begun the process of appointing a new head coach.
