Former champions Deportivo de A Coruña have announced the signing of talented central defender Bright Ede ahead of the club's first season in La Liga since 2017-2018.
Ede, a Poland U19 international who is eligible for Nigeria through his father, has signed a contract with the Blue and White until June 30, 2031.
He departs Motor Lublin after featuring in seventeen games in the Ekstraklasa and scoring once, on his debut against Stal Mielec in March 2025.
Last summer, Ede was heavily linked with a move to Chelsea, with reports claiming the Premier League giants were prepared to sign him for a Polish transfer record before immediately sending him on loan to sister club Strasbourg.
However, a move to Chelsea never materialised, with Motor Lubin owner Zbigniew Jakubas insisting that the club did not receive any offers for the left-footed defender.
Elsewhere, Akpe Victory (pictured) has completed a move to FC Basel from Hungarian top-flight side Zalaegerszegi TE FC, signing a long-term contract that will keep him at the Swiss Super League giants until 2030.
The Nigerian central defender moved to Europe in early 2025 and has already gained valuable continental experience, featuring in the second qualifying round of the UEFA Conference League.
He featured in 16 of a possible 19 matches for Zalaegerszegi TE and played the full 120 minutes in the Hungarian Cup final, where his former team suffered a narrow 1-0 defeat to Ferencváros after extra time.
