Brighton & Hove Albion are in advanced talks to sign AIK's teenage sensation Zadok Yohanna, Sky Sports UK is reporting.
The 18-year-old was initially included in the Super Eagles squad for the Unity Cup in London, but AIK opted not to release him to the Nigeria Football Federation in order to avoid aggravating an injury he is currently recovering from.
AIK have revealed that they are in talks with an unnamed club regarding the sale of Zadok, with the Swedish side seeking a transfer fee in the region of 22 million euros.
The Seagulls are prepared to match AIK's asking price for the highly rated winger, with the deal set to make the Nigerian the most expensive player sold in Swedish football history if completed.
The current record is held by Sweden international midfielder Lucas Bergvall, who joined Tottenham Hotspur from Djurgårdens IF in the summer of 2024 for €20 million.
The most expensive player of Nigerian descent sold by a Swedish club is Jeremy Agbonifo, who moved from BK Häcken to RC Lens for €6.5 million.
Former Golden Eaglets winger Akinkunmi Amoo remains the costliest Nigerian-born player to leave Sweden, after Hammarby sold him to FC Copenhagen for €4.3 million in January 2022.
Zadok put himself in the shop window following a blistering start to the Allsvenskan campaign, registering five goal involvements in his first seven appearances.
